Software Engineer - Level 1 - Linux

Stratum Networks is a rapidly growing information assurance and cybersecurity solutions company that provides high-end network and security consulting to Department of Defense and Intelligence Community clients.

Job Description:

We are looking for an innovative, motivated individual to join a small, talented, and hardworking Linux team in a hybrid cloud environment. The team manages Linux instances across multiple networks and architectures. The ideal candidate will have hands-on Python scripting experience, Linux administration skills, and knowledge of AWS Cloud technologies is a plus.

Must work well in a small team, have a desire to automate processes, and think creatively to solve problems.

Required skills:

• Recent, relevant, and demonstrable experience with Python.
• Ability to create and modify Python scripts from scratch.
• Experience with automating tasks using Bash and Python scripts.
• Self-motivated with a willingness to learn new technologies.
• Good communication skills for troubleshooting and collaboration.

Desired skills:

• Experience with Linux server administration including configuration, patching, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with Puppet and Ansible.
• Experience with AWS EC2 Auto Scaling.
• Familiarity with aws-cli and boto

Salary: $97k - $201k depending on experience and contract. Benefits include up to 3 weeks paid vacation, 11 paid holidays, immediate healthcare coverage, and a 401(k) plan with employer match.

Qualifications:

• Seven (7) years of software engineering experience in similar programs.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or four (4) years of equivalent experience.
• Compliance with DoD 8570.01-M, minimum certification IAM Level I (CAP, CND, Cloud+, GSLC, Security+ CE, HCISPP).
