Database Engineer; Scope Polygraph

Job Summary

Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is seeking a Database Engineer to join our team in Annapolis Junction, Maryland (also located near Ft. Meade, MD). As a Database Engineer you will provide technical expertise for database design, development, implementation, information storage and retrieval, data flow and analysis. You will develop relational and/or object‑oriented databases, database parser software, and database loading software. You will support the lifecycle from requirements to system acceptance testing and Initial Operational Capability (IOC).

You will assist with recommendation, analysis, and evaluation of system improvements, optimization, development, and maintenance. You will translate requirements and data into usable documents by creating and recreating ad hoc queries, scripts, and macros, updating existing queries and building complex systems using queries, tables, Open Database Connectivity, and cloud methodologies.

Location: Annapolis Junction, Maryland / Ft. Meade, MD area

Security Clearance: Active TS/SCI clearance with full‑scope polygraph is required.

• 0–5+ years of relevant work experience as a Database Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong customer‑service skills; ability to work with personnel across multiple disciplines.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently.
