Position: Hardware Technician - Level 1 (Mobility Support Specialist)

Stratum Networks is a rapidly growing information assurance and cybersecurity solutions company that provides high‑end network and security consulting to Department of Defense and Intelligence Community clients.

Position

Level 1 Hardware Technician (located in Annapolis, Junction, MD)

Security Requirements

CANDIDATES ARE REQUIRED TO HAVE AN ACTIVE TS/SCI WITH POLYGRAPH TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THE POSITION.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site surveys; assess and document current site configuration and user requirements.
• Analyze existing requirements and prepare specifications for hardware acquisitions.
• Develop hardware installation schedules.
• Prepare drawings documenting configuration changes at each site.
• Configure computers, communications devices, and peripheral equipment.
• Train site personnel in proper use of hardware.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and test computer workstations, printers, peripherals, and teleconferencing equipment.
• Install and configure computer workstations, printers, peripherals, and teleconferencing equipment and associated cabling.
• Maintain government and/or vendor‑manufactured fiber‑optic/Ethernet cables & telephone systems.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary: $31k – $71k depending on experience and contract. 3 weeks paid vacation, 11 paid holidays, single and family health care immediately, 401(k) plan with employer match.

Qualified Education & Experience

Minimum education:

High‑school/GED and 0–2 years experience; 8570 Certification. Preferred:
Security +. An AA or BS in a technical field is a substitute for experience.

Required Skills & Knowledge

Highly skilled in installing, repairing, and troubleshooting computer hardware and peripherals; proficient with Windows, software, applications, antivirus, and patches; ability to read technical manuals and schematics; expertise in Microsoft Office; familiar with Active Directory security and policies; excellent analytical, problem‑solving, communication skills.

Availability

Must be available for an 8‑hour shift between 6 am and 6 pm.

Physical & Other Requirements

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds; may drive a company vehicle; typical physical demands include significant lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and working in tight areas.

Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record required.

Security Clearance

Candidate must have a TS/SCI polygraph clearance.
