Data Scientist III — Fort Meade, MD
EnDepth Solutions has been invited to be involved in some very exciting and technically sophisticated work for one of our most prestigious agencies. In this position you will turn complex data sets into useful information to solve global challenges. You will be working on a large new contract with a focus on the development of Analytics, Knowledge Management artifacts, Information Sharing tools, Data Transformation, and Malware Analysis.
Qualifications- Employ some combination (2 or more) of the following areas:
- Foundations (Mathematical, Computational, Statistical)
- Data Processing (Data management and curation, data description and visualization, workflow and reproducibility)
- Modeling, Inference, and Prediction (Data modeling and assessment, domain-specific considerations)
- Devise strategies for extracting meaning and value from large datasets.
- Through analytic modeling, statistical analysis, programming (coding), and/or another appropriate scientific method, develop and implement qualitative and quantitative methods for characterizing, exploring, and assessing large datasets in various states of organization, cleanliness, and structure that account for the unique features and limitations inherent to key intelligence community data holdings.
- Translate practical mission needs and analytic questions related to large datasets into technical requirements and, conversely, assist others with drawing appropriate conclusions from the analysis of such data.
- Work with current project teams to support ongoing intelligence focused projects.
- Develop/code/program software to support ongoing project work with minimal supervision.
- Make and communicate principled conclusions from data using elements of mathematics, statistics, computer science, and application specific knowledge.
- Be able to ask questions and communicate issues and problems clearly to peers and management.
- Effectively communicate complex technical information to non-technical audiences.
- Can work with others easily and effectively.
- Make informed recommendations regarding competing technical solutions by maintaining awareness of the constantly shifting intelligence community collection, processing, storage and analytic capabilities and limitations.
- Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of relevant experience.
MUST have a TS/SCI Clearance w/Poly
Experience- Relevant experience in designing/implementing machine learning, data science, advanced analytical algorithms.
- Experience with statistical analysis (e.g. variability, sampling error, inference, hypothesis testing, EDA, application of linear models).
- College-level Algebra or other math courses intended to meet a basic college level requirement, or upper level math courses designated as elementary or basic do not count.
- Understand and have experience in data management (e.g. data cleaning and transformation) including, but not limited to, data mining, data modeling and assessment.
- Experience with artificial intelligence/machine learning including both software development (coding) and operating AI/ML systems and tools.
- Experience with at least one of the following computer languages (in priority order):
Python, Java, R, C, C++ or any other one that would be relevant. Experience with more than one language is preferred. - Experience with designing/developing/using/evaluating mathematic models, methods, and/or techniques (e.g., algorithm development) is a plus.
- Ability to understand and study issues and solve problems.
Degree Specialization:
- MUST be in one of the following:
- Mathematics and/or Applied Mathematics
- Statistics and/or Applied Statistics
- Machine Learning
- Data Science
- Operations Research
- Computer Science
- Computer Engineering
- Physical/Hard Sciences (e.g., physics, chemistry, biology, astronomy), or other science disciplines with a substantial computational component (i.e., behavioral, social, and life) may be considered if it includes a concentration of coursework (typically 5 or more courses) in advanced mathematics (typically 300 level or higher; such as linear algebra, probability and statistics, machine learning) and/or computer science (e.g., algorithms,…
