Junior Software Engineer

Wyetech is seeking a motivated Junior Software Engineer (SWE1) to support the Geolocation and Data Integration mission. The successful candidate will work closely with mission stakeholders to design, develop, and deploy innovative applications, analytics, and software solutions that automate and enhance data and metadata analysis.

This position supports the development of mission-focused analytics using data from multiple cyber sources and traditional Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) environments, including data tagging and integration. The Software Engineer will leverage object-oriented programming, big data technologies, and data processing frameworks to develop scalable solutions that support intelligence analysis, collection activities, and technology discovery.

Required Skills/

Experience:

• Proficiency in object-oriented programming using Java and Python.

• Experience developing, testing, and maintaining software applications and analytical solutions.

• Experience with PySpark for distributed data processing and analytics.

• Experience with Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes and data integration.

• Experience with Apache Pig and Map Reduce for large-scale data processing.

• Experience working with Hadoop and distributed data environments.

• Experience with JSON and BSON data formats for data exchange and processing.

• Ability to analyze and integrate data from multiple cyber and SIGINT sources.

• Experience developing analytics and applications that automate data and metadata analysis.

• Ability to creatively leverage disparate data sources to address knowledge gaps in user activities, collection efforts, and technology discovery.

• Experience collaborating with mission stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver software solutions.

• Knowledge of software development life cycle processes, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing, integration, deployment, and maintenance.

The Software Engineer analyzes, designs, verifies, validates, implements, applies, and maintains software systems. Applies principles of computer science, discrete mathematics, probability, statistics, and supporting technical disciplines to develop effective software solutions.

The Software Engineer applies development techniques across multiple domains, prepares technical documentation and training materials, and presents briefings and demonstrations to stakeholders. The position requires programming proficiency, analytical problem-solving skills, and the ability to develop and maintain software solutions that meet mission requirements.
