Piper Companies is seeking a Java / Python Developer to join a leading government technology and defense industry organization. The Java / Python Developer will support the development and enhancement of mission-critical applications in a secure environment, leveraging expertise in Java, Python, and modern software development practices.
The Java / Python Developer role is a long term open ended contract opportunity, requires you to work onsite in Ft. Meade, MD 5 days per week and requires you to have an active TS/SCI with FS Poly.
- Develop, maintain, and enhance software applications using Java and Python technologies.
- Design, implement, and support scalable backend services and APIs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application and system issues.
- Participate in code reviews, testing efforts, and software deployment activities.
- Support Agile development processes and contribute to technical documentation.
- 3+ years of professional software development experience.
- Strong proficiency in Java and Python development.
- Experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs and web services.
- Familiarity with relational and/or No
SQL databases. - Understanding of software development lifecycle methodologies and Agile environments.
- Experience with source control tools such as Git.
- Active TS/SCI clearance with Full Scope Polygraph required.
- Salary range: $80,000 - $180,000
