Senior Roadway Engineer

HDR is looking for a Senior Roadway Engineer to join our South Carolina Transportation Business Group. In the role, you will help shape systems that move people and goods safely, efficiently, and sustainably.

• Serve as the lead technical role in the detailed development of urban roadway design projects
• Perform quality assurance checks on major transportation projects on interstate and state highway systems
• Serve as a technical expert with recognized authority in a specialized area that resolves problems of greater scope and complexity
• Assume some project‑management duties and interact with clients as needed
• Supervise the work of medium to large staff of professionals and technicians as needed
• Perform other duties as needed

• MSCE
• Experience with Micro Station, InRoads, and Microsoft Office applications
• Local candidates are preferred

• Bachelor’s degree
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in all aspects of roadway engineering design
• Professional Engineer (PE) license
• Demonstrated leadership, communication, and team collaboration skills
• Project management skills desirable
• Experience with urban and rural highway interchanges, intersection design, traffic management, transportation planning, site planning, concept alignment preparation, geometrical layout, and CAD base alignment plans
• Experience coordinating survey, grading, drainage, utilities, and layout of various site items is a plus
