Shift Manager - Ops I

Join Shutterfly, a leader in self‑expression, as a Shift Manager for our 2nd Shift (Monday‑Wednesday 4pm‑4am, plus Thursdays during Peak). You will report to the Production Manager and oversee the production flow, overall quality, merchandising, and packaging portions of the daily manufacturing operation.

• Provide general leadership and management to all types of printing processes, manufacturing, packaging, fulfillment, and other areas.
• Directly supervise Leads and Operators.
• Report on daily, weekly, and monthly metrics.
• Perform assigned duties within the scope of this job as defined by the Manufacturing Manager.
• Measure and report plant performance.
• Plan labor requirements.
• Implement new systems, policies, and procedures.
• Promote and drive quality processes.
• Ensure safety in all areas such as processing and behavioral operations.
• Adhere to OSHA policies and standards.
• Execute assigned tasks in a timely manner.
• Develop the team.
• Interact closely with other departments outside of operations.
• Drive continuous improvement.

• Preferred candidate will have 3+ years of job‑related experience supervising over 15 direct reports.
• Experience with digital press, bindery, and/or technical operations is a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple priorities and develop effective solutions.
• Ability to write concise operation reports with appropriate supporting graphical and presentation exhibits.
• Demonstrated project and process management skills.
• Formal process improvement training preferred (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills.
• Knowledge of Word, Excel, and MRP systems also a plus.
• Able to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs., and perform repetitive actions with hands and arms.
• Willing to work in other production departments on the manufacturing floor when business needs arise.
