Job Description Summary of Position

A Maintenance Technician III is responsible for performing preventative maintenance and repairing production equipment as required, while working with the shift lead hand and members of the team to complete electrical and mechanical projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintain production equipment to maximize operating performance and assist with maintaining electrical spare parts’ inventory levels.
  • Performrepairsonequipmenttorestoreittoproperandsafeworkingconditions.
  • Perform installation, set up, modification and relocation of equipment to accommodate orimproveproductionrequirements.
  • Read/writeelectricalandelectronicschematics/diagrams,basichydraulicandpneumaticdiagrams.
  • Testelectricalandelectronicequipmentandcomponentsforcontinuity,current,voltageandresistance
  • Ensure the production schedule is not jeopardized due to machine breakdown, or unsafeoperatingconditionsandinform

    Maintenance

    Manageraboutchangesinelectriccircuitsandupdateoriginal diagrams.
  • Always follow

    LOCKOUTprocedureonunsafemachines/machinesbeingserviced.
  • Adhere to work orders, preventive/predictive maintenance systems by filling in required formsandorganizeworkplacetocomply withhousekeepingrequirements.
  • Perform preventative/predictivemaintenancetoallproductionequipmentasrequired.
  • Completeelectricalandmechanicalprojectsbasedondirectiongivenfrom Maintenance Supervisorasrequiredbygovernmentregulation .
  • Demonstrate safe work practices and follow company safety policies, procedures, andregulationsalways.
  • Initiate and complete all other jobs, projects and special assignments as directed by Maintenance Supervisor
  • Maintain compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and recommend measures toimprovehealthandsafety.
  • Repair and replace electrical/hydraulic/pneumatic and electronic components such as motors, contractors, relays, timers, types of switches, PLCs, light curtains, motorcontrolsandvalves.
Qualifications Skills
  • Able to read wiring diagrams, electrical/mechanical/pneumatic/hydraulic schematics andladder/function block logic.
  • Working knowledge of industrial PCs and PLCs (Siemens Step 7, Beckhoff Twin Cat, etc.) and electric circuitry consisting of contractors, relays, main voltage/control voltage, limit switches and proximity sensors
  • Excellent inter-personalandcommunicationskills

Education and/or Experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience within related role.

Preferred:

  • A certificate from technical trade school, Military experience in lieu of or related subject
