Lead Quality Technician
Location: Fort Mill, SC
Pay Range: $25.00 - $31.00 per hour
Work Schedule: 7am – 7pm
Positional OverviewThe Imagine Group is recruiting for a Lead Quality Technician on behalf of our client, a leading manufacturer of high‑efficiency, premium solar cells and photovoltaic modules. This operation brings advanced, state‑of‑the‑art clean energy production, creating hundreds of skilled jobs and contributing to the U.S. solar supply chain in Fort Mill, SC.
In this role, you will oversee a team of Quality Technicians, developing and administering internal and external processes, regulations, protocols, and policies. You will maintain test data, perform testing, and report results to ensure a high standard of quality for company processes and products.
Responsibilities- Ensure compliance with industry, government, and company‑specific regulations related to product quality and proper performance of day‑to‑day activities.
- Oversee detailed inspections of raw materials, semi‑finished and finished modules at various phases of production.
- Create statistical analysis and reports on the quality of raw materials and finished products.
- Reduce scrap through in‑depth analysis and process improvement.
- Develop quality controls and Work Instructions in cooperation with management.
- Assist in preparing and maintaining quality records for review of completeness and accuracy.
- Monitor process performance and suggest improvements to the leadership team; implement approved corrective measures.
- Ensure consistent quality standards of finished product.
- Monitor variations in scrap products and out‑of‑spec raw materials; make statistical evaluations and define corrective actions.
- Maintain ongoing defect prevention activities through FMEA and risk assessment reviews.
- Perform process and management system audits.
- Apply statistical techniques to process control, experiments, or CI projects.
- Liaise with suppliers and customers when required, including site visits.
- Review equipment calibration, validation, and maintenance records to ensure correct and timely performance.
- Write QARs and train employees on processes.
- Ability to work cross‑functionally with minimum supervision.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
- Capability to meet leadership‑set goals.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
- Related post‑secondary degree or equivalent work experience.
- 3+ years of experience as a Quality Lead in a high‑volume manufacturing environment.
- PV solar module manufacturing experience (preferred).
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced and dynamic environment.
