For this position of Assistant Vice President, on the Investment Management and Trading team, we are seeking a result-driven and goal-oriented AVP Tech - Software Development to create highly available and performant systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in developing high throughput, mission-critical business applications using Cloud-based technologies.

They should be well-versed in financial, trading, and advisory technologies. As a technology-savvy leader, you will work with cross-functional teams to ensure development, deliver quality, and meet deadlines. This hands-on technical lead role will involve designing, architecting, and developing cloud-native and on-prem services to support LPL’s overall strategy and transformation. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys rolling up their sleeves, writing code, and guiding teams through the full product lifecycle—from ideation to delivery.

• Lead a tech team to design, develop, test and implement highly available and scalable technical solutions based on business requirements and strategic direction.
• Deep understanding and seasoned on AWS platform and Cloud Dev Ops.
• Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including architecture, data, product, and business partners, and strategies to scale and modernize existing trading platforms.
• Work collaboratively with quality assurance engineering teams, Dev Ops and PMO to ensure all SDLC processes and Agile best practices are followed.
• Code and implement guardrails to enable self-service and frictionless delivery allowing teams to build and own end-to-end applications and services in the cloud.
• Formulating workable solutions to complex challenges, logically deliberating on courses of action by examining and challenging assumptions, discerning hidden value, objectively evaluating evidence, and assessing conclusions.
• Measure success by say/do, velocity, defect remediation, and clear value to the trading platforms.
• Provide technical leadership to teammates through technical design and implementation of industry best practices adhering to LPL’s modernization practices, cloud practices, SDLC and release management processes.
• Provide production support, maintain, troubleshoot, optimize and enhance trading platforms/applications.
• Ensure service level agreements and contingency activities are covered related to system/application availability ensuring zero Advisor experience disruption.

• BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience, deep understanding of software architecture, cloud infrastructure, and CI/CD practices.
• 4+ years of progressive experience in owning and driving full stack applications as hands-on Engineering Tech Lead - guiding, solutioning, delivering, and documenting team’s development efforts towards successful project delivery and application support
• 8+ years of experience with the following technologies: .NET core, AWS/Azure with Kubernetes and Docker, SQL/Postgres/Mongo
  
  DB, Kafka, Microservices, Angular, and Typescript
• Experience with front-end platforms, like Angular (preferred) along with test platforms such as Cypress, Jest, etc.
• Experience with building applications using BPMN systems like Camunda, Appway etc
