Day health care - nursing & developmental stimulation for clients with multiple and severe disabilities.

• Supports the delivery of a “best nursing practice” day health care program.
• Provides nursing care and related services—using the nursing processes of assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation and evaluation—under the direction of the nursing manager based on physician orders and a client’s protocol of care.
• Collaborates with other staff in the day health program to foster age-appropriate self-care and fine/gross motor, language/literacy, and social/emotional development.
• Supervises and provides daily care services to address basic needs, including physical handling of clients.
Implements and documents nursing care and related activities under the direction of the nursing manager based on physician orders and a client’s protocol of care.
• Educates, instructs, and trains parents/guardians/caregivers regarding their client’s health care.
• Collaborates again with other staff in the day health program to foster age-appropriate self-care and fine/gross motor, language/literacy, and social/emotional development.
• Supervises and provides daily care services for wheelchair transfers, positioning, personal hygiene, toileting, dressing, and other such tasks as needed.

• Acceptable Criminal Background check, Client Abuse & Neglect Registry check, and check of KY Nurse Aide Registry.
• Current CPR for the Professional Rescuer certification upon hire and maintenance of annual certification.
