EVS/Floor Tech - FT - Rotating Schedule - Req #

• The Environmental Services Technician cleans patient rooms according to established procedures (or as conditions permit); responsibilities may include making beds, scouring, scrubbing, mopping, dusting, polishing and using germicides as appropriate; performs detail cleaning and sanitizing of technical equipment as assigned; assists with orientation of new personnel, including laundry and floor maintenance; maintains inventories of housekeeping supplies; assists with cleaning and shampooing of carpets and/or refinishes floors;
  
  moves beds and other non-technical equipment as requested; completes all responsibilities per Infection Control policies and practices; performs responsibilities in compliance with all safety regulations and precautions; reports all unsafe conditions and equipment that require repair to supervisor; attends departmental meetings and in services as required; collects soiled linen and performs other duties as assigned.

• Must be flexible as this is a rotating schedule position.
• Degree / Licensure / Certification / Registration
  :
  High School Diploma.
• Experience Required
  :
  Prefer 1 year in a customer service atmosphere, prefer healthcare setting in acute care.
• Special Skills & Qualifications
  :
• Must have strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills. Effective human relations skills are required for interfacing with team members, all levels of staff, physicians, patients, families and other contacts. Must possess the ability to effectively function in a stressful environment. Must possess the ability to use the following equipment:
  Telephone / Overhead Paging System / Fax Machine / Calculator / Computer.
