The Registered Nurse promotes and restores patients’ health by completing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care for a given population based upon age specific and cultural needs. This is done in a collaborative multidisciplinary approach embracing quality and safety and providing physical and psychological support along the healthcare continuum. Every effort has been made to make this job description as complete as possible.

Degree / Licensure / Certification / Registration :
Valid Arizona R.N. licensure required, or valid multi-state license from a recognized compact state acceptable to Arizona. Must have current BLS card. ACLS i s required within 90 days of hire, unless hired in ER OB, Cath Lab, PACU or ICU then it is required upon hire. Other certifications as indicated below. Must meet qualifications for specific unit worked.

Required:

Special Skills & Qualifications :

• Must possess the ability to delegate tasks to subordinate team members and oversee their performance.
• Must have strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
• Effective human relations skills interacting with team members, staff, physicians, patients, families and other contacts.
• Must possess the ability to ability to effectively function in a stressful environment.
• Must possess the ability to remain on their feet for extended periods of time and lift heavy objects
• Assist patients to and from bed/wheelchair/gurney; and to perform the essential duties of the position.
• Must possess the ability to use the following equipment:
  Telephone / Overhead Paging System / Fax Machine / Calculator / Computer / Wheelchair / Gurney / Hospital Beds.
• Must be able to work any scheduled shifts, periodic overtime, and be prepared to take call as requested.
• Ability to respond to on-call activation within 30 minutes for departments with 24/7 call coverage
