Description

The Environmental Services Tech/Floor Tech cleans patients rooms according to established procedures (or as conditions permit) which may include making beds, scouring, scrubbing, mopping, dusting, polishing and using germicides as appropriate;performs detail cleaning and sanitizing of technical equipment as assigned;assists with orientation of new personnel, including laundry and floor maintenance;maintains inventories of cleaning supplies, cleaning and shampooing carpets and/or refinishes floors (which may included but is not limited to stripping, buffing and waxing floors) moves beds and other non-technical equipment as requested;completes

routine floor maintenance;completes all responsibilities per Infection Control policies and practices;performs responsibilities in compliance with all safety regulations and precautions;maintains floor cleaning equipment; reports all unsafe conditions and equipment that requires repair to supervisor;attends departmental meetings and in services as required; and performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Degree / Licensure / Certification / Registration :
Prefer High School Diploma.

Experience Required :
Prefer 1 year in a customer service atmosphere, prefer healthcare setting in acute care.

Previous floor care (buffing & waxing) experience preferred.

Special Skills & Qualifications :

Must have strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills. Effective human relations skills are required for interfacing with team members, all levels of staff, physicians, patients, families and other contacts. Must possess the ability to effectively function in a stressful environment. Must possess the ability to use the following equipment:

Telephone / Overhead Paging System / Fax Machine / Calculator / Computer
