We are seeking a detail‑oriented and experienced Bookkeeper to join our growing real estate company and supporting ancillary services. With headquarters in Fort Myers, FL, we have multiple office locations in 6 states and growing quickly. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, with proficiency in various accounting software. This role is essential for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with GAAP, and supporting the Controller and CFO.
The ideal candidate will be well organized and comfortable dealing with financial data. This individual will be responsible for overseeing the accounts payable and receivable, processing payroll and conducting other tasks related to finance. They should be excellent at recording data and have an ability to produce clear financial reports. There is room for growth in this position.
Responsibilities- Maintain accurate financial records through double entry bookkeeping and general ledger accounting.
- Prepare and process journal entries, accounts payable, and accounts receivable transactions.
- Conduct balance sheet reconciliation and general ledger reconciliation to ensure accuracy.
- Perform bank reconciliations and account analysis to identify discrepancies.
- Assist with generating financial reports, budget preparation, and financial forecasting.
- Manage payroll and 1099 processing and ensure compliance with tax regulations.
- Utilize accounting software such as Quick Books Enterprise Suite Online for efficient bookkeeping.
- Stay updated on financial concepts and technical accounting standards to ensure best practices are followed.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field preferred
- Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles, preferably in corporate or non-profit settings.
- Familiarity with GAAP principles and financial report writing is essential.
- Proficiency in using various accounting software; experience with Quick Books is highly desirable.
- Strong skills in account reconciliation, budgeting, payroll management, and tax experience are preferred.
- Excellent typing skills and attention to detail are crucial for success in this role.
- Ability to analyze financial data effectively and communicate findings clearly.
