We are looking for a detail-oriented and dependable Fiscal Specialist to support our financial operations. In this role, you’ll help process accounts payable, manage reimbursements, assist with budget preparation, and maintain accurate financial records. You’ll also have the opportunity to cross-train in other areas, including occasional relief cashiering duties. Your work will help our team stay organized, efficient, and successful.
What You’ll Do- Serve as backup for cashiering duties as needed.
- Process all Accounts Payable (AP) transactions, including employee reimbursements, contracted invoices, and fixed assets, in compliance with administrative codes, statutes, policies, procedures, and deadlines.
- Use the County credit card for approved purchases and ensure all department cardholder expenses are accurately allocated on a weekly basis.
- Input purchase order (PO) requests using annual contracts while maintaining a high degree of accuracy.
- Follow up on outstanding requisitions and coordinate with Procurement on POs not issued within 4 days.
- Provide professional and courteous customer service to department staff and vendors.
- Prepare and process journal entries as needed.
- Maintain databases and generate statistical or financial reports as required.
- Manage petty cash disbursements and perform regular reconciliations.
- Perform other related work as assigned.
JD Edwards One World, OnBase/Unity, MS Office, Accela, and Tyler Technology (experience is helpful but not required).
What We’re Looking For- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Additional coursework or specialized training equivalent to one year of college-level education in accounting or a closely related field.
- Two years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or a similar financial role.
- Experience with financial software such as JD Edwards One World, OnBase/Unity, and Microsoft Office.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting strict deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and recordkeeping.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with all levels of Lee County employees and vendors.
Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
