Salary: $100,000 - $160,000 annually (DOE)

Our client is a well‑established general contractor based in Fort Myers, Florida, specializing in bridge construction, roadway projects, and utility installations. With a reputation for excellence in the transportation and infrastructure sectors, they deliver high‑quality projects that help shape the region’s growth. Due to expansion and an increasing project portfolio, they are looking for an experienced Estimator to join their team and contribute to the continued success of their projects.

Position Overview

The Estimator will play a key role in the preparation and submission of cost estimates for a wide range of projects, primarily focused on bridge construction, roadways, and utilities. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of civil construction, with particular expertise in the cost analysis and pricing of infrastructure projects. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure accurate and competitive estimates that support the company’s business development goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for bridge projects, roadway construction, and utility installations.
  • Review project plans, specifications, and other documentation to develop comprehensive estimates.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather necessary information and refine estimates.
  • Analyze labor, material, and equipment costs, and factor in potential project risks and contingencies.
  • Identify and assess scope changes and adjust estimates accordingly.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors and vendors to obtain accurate pricing and information.
  • Prepare bid proposals and provide technical support during the bidding process.
  • Work closely with the project team to ensure that estimates are aligned with project budgets and objectives.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, construction costs, and materials to ensure estimates are competitive and realistic.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience as an Estimator in civil construction, specifically in bridge projects, roadways, and utilities.
  • Strong knowledge of estimating software (e.g., Pro Est, HCSS, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Proven ability to estimate the costs of complex infrastructure projects.
  • In-depth understanding of materials, labor, equipment, and methodologies used in bridge, roadway, and utility construction.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with project teams, clients, and vendors.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Professional certifications such as AACE or ASPE are a plus.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
