Job Description
The Project Manager of construction projects includes interfacing with the project owner or agent, scheduling crews and subcontractors, communicating to the Sales/Marketing Estimators any claims and determining “as built” quantities of work performed, properly invoicing for work completed, and is responsible for building the project within the estimated budget.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
The Project Manager directly reports to and is accountable to the Area Manager.
Requirements
- EDUCATION
- LICENSING/REGISTRATIONS
Traffic Control Supervisor Certification
Asphalt Paving Levels 1 & 2
- SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES
- Leadership and negotiating skills.
- The use of conversational, analytical, and observational skills, which demonstrate an ability to organize, control, and manage all areas of field operations for the road construction industry.
- Knowledge of materials, equipment, methods, and techniques used in road construction.
- Knowledge of possible defects and faults in work and of stages where such faults and defects are most readily ascertained.
- Ability to understand and interpret terms and specifications of contracts.
- Ability to conduct effective inspections in determining contract compliance.
- Ability to calculate figures and mathematical concepts.
- Knowledge of construction lien laws.
- JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervision and participation in securing compliance that contract work meets contract specifications.
- The accurate take-off of quantities and the determination of material requirements from project plans and specifications.
- The preparation of detailed resource requirements from the quantity take-offs and specifications.
- Coordination of subcontractors on jobs and maintenance of subcontractor progress.
- Preparation and submittal to owners or general contractors of schedules, material sources, claims, invoices, or any other required paperwork.
- Verification of subcontractor payments.
- Collection of accounts receivable.
- Analyzing estimates versus as-built costs from the job cost system.
- SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENTAL
- Enforce and abide by all rules listed in the Ajax employee handbook.
- Insure all Ajax quality standards are met.
- Insure adherence to all federal, state, local, and Ajax Safety and Environmental rules and regulations.

Ability to workdays, nights, and weekends as required.
