Position Summary

We are seeking a highly organized, client-focused Assistant Service Manager to support our commercial construction service division. This role assists with managing service calls, coordinating field crews, and ensuring timely completion of commercial repair, maintenance, and post-construction service projects. The ideal candidate understands the demands of commercial job sites, can interface professionally with business owners, and can keep multiple service requests moving efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform hands-on field work as needed, including minor repairs, punch list completion, inspections, and jobsite support.

  • Support the Service Manager with daily operations of the commercial construction service team

  • Coordinate scheduling of field technicians, subcontractors, and specialty trades for service work, punch lists, repairs, and maintenance tasks

  • Act as a primary service contact for commercial clients—property managers, facility managers, retail tenants, office buildings, hospitality, healthcare, and industrial sites

  • Manage work orders, service tickets, project documentation, and daily logs

  • Review commercial service scopes, ensuring work aligns with client expectations, safety standards, and project specifications

  • Ensure all service work complies with OSHA guidelines, site protocols, and company-specific safety requirements

  • Assist with preparing service estimates, change orders, and pricing for commercial clients

  • Track job costs, material usage, timecards, and project schedules to ensure accuracy and profitability

  • Maintain communication with field crews regarding job updates, access requirements, and client schedules

  • Provide quick and professional resolution to client concerns, warranty claims, and urgent service issues.

  • Support onboarding, coordination, and evaluation of service technicians

  • Monitor materials, equipment, and subcontractor needs for daily service operations

  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or construction-related training preferred

  • 2+ years of experience in commercial construction, field service coordination, or construction management support

  • Knowledge of commercial construction processes, jobsite safety, and commercial building systems

  • Blueprint reading and understanding of blueprints.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact with building owners, tenants, subcontractors, and field crews

  • Proficiency with construction management software

  • Ability to interpret service scopes, basic construction drawings, and specifications

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple work orders and deadlines

Preferred

Skills:
  • Experience managing service work in commercial environments (office, retail, industrial, healthcare, hospitality)

  • Familiarity with commercial permitting, inspections, and tenant improvement processes

  • Understanding of building envelope systems, MEP coordination, and commercial finishes

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus

Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to comfortably visit job sites and navigate construction environments.
