A major General Contractor is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to lead public‑sector projects, with a strong emphasis on fire stations, K–12/school facilities, and FDEP‑regulated work. This role requires a hands‑on field leader with a proven ability to manage complex construction operations while maintaining high standards for safety, quality, and schedule performance.
The Superintendent will be responsible for overseeing daily field operations from project startup through closeout. The position works closely with project managers, subcontractors, inspectors, and owners to ensure projects are delivered in compliance with contract documents, building codes, and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities- Manage day‑to‑day field operations from mobilization through project closeout
- Supervise subcontractors, site personnel, and trade partners to ensure quality and productivity
- Coordinate project schedules, inspections, and material deliveries
- Enforce jobsite safety standards and regulatory compliance
- Oversee construction of fire stations, K–12/school facilities, and FDEP‑related projects
- Maintain clear communication with project managers, owners, inspectors, and design teams
- Conduct site meetings, progress tracking, and quality control inspections
- Maintain accurate daily reports, safety documentation, and project records
Minimum of five years of superintendent experience on commercial or public‑sector projects, with demonstrated experience delivering fire stations, educational facilities, or FDEP‑regulated work. Strong knowledge of construction means and methods, scheduling, sequencing, and plan interpretation is required. OSHA 30 certification is preferred, or the ability to obtain it. A valid driver’s license is required.
Experience with public‑sector or government‑funded construction, coordination with AHJs, and familiarity with Florida Building Code and FDEP compliance processes is highly preferred.
