We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our team as an Overnight Assignment Editor.

The Overnight Assignment Editor at WINK News will play a crucial role in shaping our news coverage during the overnight hours. This position requires a detail-oriented and organized individual with a strong news judgment and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

• Monitoring various news sources, including scanners, social media, and news wires, to identify breaking news and story leads.
• Support the assignment desk by researching news stories, verifying facts, and assisting in story development.
• Collaborate with reporters, photographers, and newsroom personnel to coordinate coverage assignments and logistical arrangements.
• Work closely with producers to ensure a smooth transition between overnight and morning news broadcasts.
• Assist in maintaining accurate and up-to-date information in newsroom databases and systems.

• Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field (recent graduates or individuals pursuing degrees are encouraged to apply).
• Strong passion for news, storytelling, and a keen interest in pursuing a career in journalism.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• High level of curiosity, adaptability, and a desire to learn from experienced industry professionals.
• Basic understanding of newsroom operations, journalism principles, and digital media tools is a plus.
• Ability to work overnight hours

• Type:
  Full-time, entry-level position with opportunities for growth and advancement within the company.

• Ability to work overnight shifts and maintain focus throughout the shift.
• Ability to remain at a computer workstation for extended periods.
• Ability to view and interpret information on multiple screens.
• Ability to type and perform data entry at a steady pace.
• Ability to move within the newsroom as needed and respond quickly in breaking-news situations.
• Ability to occasionally lift or carry up to 20 pounds.
