The English Teacher position is responsible for coaching, motivating, and instructing high school students within the company model, focusing on each student’s Individual Graduation Plan (IGP). All for-credit courses are aligned to state standards and delivered in a way that engages student learning and accelerates credit accumulation through a mastery-based educational model. The teacher acts more like a coach and mentor, ensuring student success.

• Provide a high accountability, student-centered learning environment aligned with the school’s academic goals.
• Display deep knowledge of the reading process and demonstrate best practices in teaching, intervention, and instructional techniques.
• Maintain and provide progress reports, reading records, benchmark data, and other student records as required.
• Collaborate with peers to develop and implement educational practices based on individual student needs.
• Participate in professional development to maintain necessary certifications.
• Assist in initiatives to meet enrollment and attendance goals.
• Perform other duties aligned with company policies to achieve educational goals.

• Masters or Bachelor’s degree in a related subject or a valid teaching certificate.
• Previous high school teaching experience and/or experience working with overage and at-risk youth is preferred.
• Knowledge of secondary education principles, curriculum, and instructional theory.
• Ability to analyze data for program improvement.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
