Position Specific Description

Florida Power & Light Company (FPL) is the largest rate‑regulated utility in the United States, serving over five million customer accounts across Florida. FPL is a subsidiary of Next Era Energy. FPL’s Customer Solutions & Field Experience Department seeks an Energy Solutions Specialist near the Ft. Myers area. Because the territory has a high concentration of Spanish‑speaking customers, Spanish fluency is highly preferred.

A technical or associate degree is also preferred.

Job Overview

Employees in this role perform home energy assessments and provide customized energy management plans, promoting products and services through a consultative sales process. The role maintains extensive knowledge of technical products ranging from rooftop solar, electric vehicles, HVAC systems, and energy‑efficiency programs. Employees influence customers to adopt beneficial products, enhancing brand image as a sustainable‑customer‑conscious organization. The role also involves community engagement events, proactive customer outreach, and metering investigations.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Safely conduct onsite comprehensive energy audits and assessments while listening actively to customers’ needs.
  • Educate customers on energy conservation practices and build strong customer relationships.
  • Analyze energy consumption data to identify patterns and inefficiencies and develop sales pitches for energy products/services.
  • Recommend energy‑efficient solutions and technologies while educating customers on product benefits.
  • Influence implementation of energy‑saving strategies, tailoring the customer experience.
  • Create detailed energy assessment reports and use storytelling to close deals.
  • Conduct outreach and evaluate the impact of energy‑saving initiatives, cultivating brand loyalty.
  • Safely conduct reviews and install low‑income weatherization measures while educating about applicable products.
  • Promote products and services through partner initiatives, enhancing sales targets.
  • Support staffing for marketing and community events, educating the value of the company.
  • Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • High School Graduate or GED.
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in a related field.
  • Valid non‑CDL driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree.
  • Technical certifications or trade‑school experience in HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, etc.
