Permitting & Submittals Engineer to join our growing team in Fort Myers, Florida.
This is an excellent opportunity for a recent engineering graduate or an individual looking to build a career in the commercial construction industry.
No prior professional experience is required! We are looking for someone with a strong engineering foundation, excellent problem-solving skills, and a willingness to learn.
You will work closely with our estimating, project management, and operations teams to support construction permitting, technical submittals, and regulatory compliance.
Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare and coordinate construction permit applications and technical submittals.
Review architectural drawings, engineering specifications, and project documentation.
Assist with obtaining required approvals from local building departments and regulatory agencies.
Coordinate with manufacturers, suppliers, architects, and engineers to obtain technical documentation.
Learn and apply Florida Building Code requirements, product approvals, and permitting procedures.
Track permitting and submittal progress to support project schedules.
Assist with resolving technical questions, documentation discrepancies, and permitting issues.
Collaborate with estimating, sales, and operations teams on project requirements.
Maintain organized and accurate project records.
Required QualificationsBachelor of Science (BS) degree in Engineering REQUIRED.
No previous professional experience required.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to read and interpret technical information.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Eagerness to learn, take initiative, and develop professionally.
Preferred but NOT RequiredDegree concentration in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Construction Engineering.
Internship or academic project experience involving construction or engineering.
Familiarity with AutoCAD, Bluebeam, or construction management software.
Knowledge of construction drawings, permitting, or building codes.
Training and guidance will be provided.
