Pharmacy Technician (Part-time) – Sam's Club

$18.00/hr – $22.00/hr

• Operate cash registers and related hardware to process customer purchases, including handling various payment types.
• Maintain merchandise presentation in the pharmacy by stocking, rotating goods, removing damaged or out‑of‑date items, and setting up displays while ensuring fragile items are protected.
• Enforce company policies and procedures for claims, returns, and merchandising functions such as pricing, signing, and labeling.
• Assist pharmacists in prescription fulfillment, including processing third‑party insurance claims, scanning, and verifying prescription data.
• Enter prescription data into pharmacy software, translate prescription information into system codes, and transcribe appropriate data such as drug name, strength, directions, and prescriber details.
• Fill prescriptions, weighing or mixing medications as needed, and operate automated dispensing systems to ensure accuracy.
• Provide member assistance at pickup windows, verify patient information, and handle restricted pharmaceutical items.
• Collaborate with managers, coworkers, and customers to prioritize work, communicate progress, and recommend improvement opportunities.
• Adhere to policies, procedures, and ethical standards, reporting concerns and participating in the Open Door Program.

• Meet all state requirements to work as a Pharmacy Technician (minimum age, licenses, certifications).
• Obtain National Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB – PTCE or NHA ExCPT) within 9 months of job entry.
• Previous experience in a pharmacy setting is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to handle confidential information.
