The Patient Account Representative position is responsible for taking incoming and making outgoing calls to patients and insurance companies to resolve account balances. Essential duties include account review, customer service, and billing. Positions will perform any and all related duties assigned. This job operates in a clerical office setting.

• Complete all business-related requests and correspondence from patients and insurance companies.
• Complete all assigned projects in a timely manner.
• Assist clients and patients in all requested tasks.
• Communicate areas of concern or areas of improvement to management.
• Perform various collection actions, including reporting delinquent accounts to the collection agency.
• Post payments and prepare daily deposit.
• Research and respond to all patient inquiries received by telephone and mail.
• Update patient demographic information and initiate account adjustments.
• Try to resolve account balances to zero prior to accounts being forwarded to an outside agency for collections.
• Other duties as assigned.

• This is a full-time position.
• Hybrid position.
• Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Evening and weekend work may be requested as job duties demand.
• Participates in educational activities and attends department staff meetings.
• Conducts oneself in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Maintains strict confidentiality, adhering to all HIPAA guidelines.

• Ability to operate basic office equipment and multi-line telephone system.
• General understanding of professional fee billing processes and procedures.
• Proficient in analyzing statistical data.
• Dependability in both production and attendance.
• Attention to detail.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Good organizational, analytical, and time management skills.
• Ability to exercise initiative, judgment, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to establish effective working relationships with providers, staff, and the public.

• 4 days a week remote and 1 day a week in office.
