The primary responsibilities of the role include all aspects of processing, decontamination, assembly, and sterilization and/or high‑level disinfection. Depending on the clinical setting, preparation of surgical case carts and materials management may be expectations of the role.

• Separate and prepare contaminated instrumentation for cleaning.
• Clean, assemble, and sterilize/disinfect OR or procedure room equipment and instrumentation and medical devices.
• Decontaminate, process, sterilize/disinfect, and distribute medical supplies.
• Inspect and perform functional checks on instrumentation/equipment prior to set/tray assembly.
• Wrap, label, and process all equipment for sterilization using appropriate wraps and containers.
• Document the sterilization/HLD process.
• Maintain all types of sterilizers/re‑processors daily.
• Communicate equipment and supply needs to supervisor.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of sterile processing education from an accredited school or training program.
• BLS certification (as required by individual ASC policy).

• Experience in a sterile processing department.
• Ambulatory surgery center experience.
