Contract; initial term through December, with potential for future extensions subject to budget approval
We're seeking a hands‑on Senior Azure Dev Ops Engineer to help lead a cloud platform transformation. You'll assess an existing Azure environment and build a more consistent, secure, and scalable platform using Infrastructure as Code.
This is a transformation and platform‑engineering role, not primarily a steady‑state operations position or a rebuild of every application deployment. You'll work with the Cloud Architecture and Dev Ops team, collaborate with stakeholders and partner teams, and help establish foundations that support incremental workload migration.
Responsibilities- Assess the current Azure platform, gather requirements, and understand dependencies across applications and shared services.
- Identify opportunities to reduce cloud waste and retire unused or unnecessary resources.
- Develop a pragmatic target architecture and subscription strategy, including high‑level estimates for effort and timelines.
- Build reusable Terraform modules for platform foundations, including landing zones, networking, and identity.
- Deploy and validate initial foundational components.
- Help establish a governed, code‑managed approach for provisioning subscriptions and shared services.
- Support the subsequent migration of workloads to the new platform.
- Contribute to team engineering practices, including stand‑ups, sprint planning, and day‑to‑day collaboration.
Qualifications
- 12 years of experience engineering and improving Azure cloud platforms.
- Hands‑on Terraform experience, including building reusable modules.
- Experience with Git Hub Actions and CI/CD workflows.
- Good understanding of cloud infrastructure, identity, and platform architecture.
- Ability to work independently, make practical recommendations, and drive technical work forward.
- Strong communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
Nice to have
- Experience with Terraform automation and collaboration tools (TACOS), such as Atlantis, Digger, or similar.
- Strong Azure networking knowledge.
- Experience with cloud platform governance, landing zones, and workload migrations.

Pay Range: $ 75.00 - $ 80.00
