• Reviews weld requirements from show drawings/weld procedures (size, spacing, location, etc.)
• Ability to read and understand weld symbols per AWS
• Removes weld splatter and scale from finished parts.
• Maintains welding equipment and ensures the work area is orderly and clean.
• Transports material by overhead crane when needed.
• Chips, peins, and grinds material to prepare for welding or finish.
• Welds structural, bridge, and industrial components.
• Able to read and understand required W.P.S (weld procedure).

• Previous experience in metal fabrication, welding, or a similar role.
• Proficiency in metal fabrication techniques such as cutting, bending, welding, and soldering is essential. Familiarity with various tools and equipment used in metalworking, such as saws, grinders, drills, and welding machines, is also necessary.
• The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications is crucial for understanding project requirements and executing fabrication tasks accurately.
• Have welding certifications such as AWS (American Welding Society) certification or equivalent or be able to pass and get this certification.
• Welders need to pay close attention to detail to ensure that fabricated components meet precise specifications and quality standards.
• Ability to troubleshoot issues that arise during welding processes and find practical solutions to overcome challenges.
• The job may involve lifting heavy materials, standing for extended periods, and working in various positions, so physical strength and stamina are important.
• Knowledge of safety procedures and practices related to metal fabrication, including proper handling of equipment, and use of personal protective equipment (PPE). You will need steel-toe boots and a welding hood.
• Commitment to producing high-quality work and ensuring that fabricated components meet specified standards and tolerances.
