Forklift Operator

Position Summary

Responsible for safely loading/unloading of product.

• Inspects equipment for wear and completes product for any defects.
• Verify product load/unloaded against tickets.
• Stocks, organizes, and is responsible for the housekeeping of pipe and/or drycast products.
• Inspects equipment and lifting devices to make sure they are safe and working properly.
• Ability to drive a forklift safely.
• Ability to use a forklift to stack finished product in the yard.
• Effective use to not damage product.
• Distinguish different types of product (sizes, specifications) and resale items.
• Ability to load and unload trucks with minimal breakage.
• Practice good housekeeping, safety procedures and adhere to company policy and procedures.
• Tip-out finished product from building.

• Must be at least 21 years of age or receive approval of the EVP of Operations.
• 1+ year(s) forklift / loader experience.
• English language proficiency. Spanish is a plus.

• Quick thinker / flexible / problem solver.
• Work with coworkers and supervisors in meeting production goals.

• Exposed to high levels of concrete dust.
• Work outdoors but may on occasion work indoors. Temperatures may vary due to weather.
• Regularly wear protective attire, such as hard hats and steel-toe boots.
• Exposed to sound and noise levels that are distracting and uncomfortable.
• Work in extremely bright or very dim lighting conditions.
• Mon - Fri (weekends when needed).
• 45 - 60 hours /week.
