Kitchen Manager

Directly responsible for all kitchen functions including food purchasing, preparation, and maintenance of quality standards; sanitation and cleanliness; training of employees in cooking methods, preparation, plate presentation, portion and cost control, and sanitation.

• Ensure all food and products are prepared and served according to restaurant standards.
• Make employment decisions, including hiring, evaluating, and disciplining kitchen staff.
• Oversee training and orientation of new kitchen employees.
• Maintain equipment and ensure cleanliness through inspections and preventive maintenance.
• Work with management to plan and price menu items, establish portion sizes, and prepare recipe cards.
• Manage ordering, receiving, and storage of products to control costs and wastage.
• Supervise employee performance reviews and schedule staff efficiently.
• Ensure safety and sanitation practices are followed, including training staff on proper equipment use and cleanliness.

• 2 to 5 years of varied kitchen experience, including roles like line cook or expediter.
• At least 6 months in a supervisory capacity.
• Strong communication skills with team members and guests.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work standing for long hours.
