About the role

Vermeer Southeast is seeking a motivated Equipment Sales Representative to join our Industrial Underground product line team. This position is responsible for driving equipment sales within the Southwest Florida territory, including Charlotte, Glades, Lee, Hendry, and Collier counties. The role involves planning and executing sales strategies, prospecting new business, managing customer accounts, and coordinating the sale and delivery of both new and used equipment.

This position will report to our Fort Myers location.

What you'll do Marketing and Sales
  • Market and sell new and used equipment through strong interviewing, demonstrating, negotiating, and closing skills.
  • Consistently call on prospective and existing customers to grow and maintain your customer base.
  • Follow up promptly on all leads and customer inquiries.
  • Meet or exceed annual sales projections for your assigned territory.
  • Participate in relevant trade shows, industry events, and associations.
  • Listen actively and communicate effectively with customers.
Customer Satisfaction
  • Interact with customers professionally, courteously, and promptly.
  • Provide solutions to enhance equipment performance and address customer concerns.
  • Coordinate and conduct equipment demonstrations for qualified customers.
  • Assist with customer training on equipment when needed.
  • Resolve customer issues quickly, collaborating with other departments as necessary.
Administration
  • Submit weekly call reports and customer hot lists.
  • Provide accurate, timely price quotes and evaluate trade-in equipment (with Sales Manager support).
  • Maintain accurate records in the CRM, including quotes, notes, purchase history, and sales activity.
  • Accurately complete all required documentation, including warranty forms, delivery agreements, rental agreements, demo agreements, and financial documents.
  • Follow proper procedures when transporting, prepping, or delivering equipment.
  • Follow up on outstanding equipment invoices.
Product Knowledge
  • In-depth knowledge of Vermeer and competitive equipment.
  • Communicates key features and benefits of Vermeer equipment and how they apply to the customers individual needs.
  • Competence of how to operate Vermeer equipment.
  • Clarity in the proper application and limitations of entire product line.
  • Retain key specifications of entire product line.
  • Understands and communicates the required daily maintenance of Vermeer products upon delivery.
Territory Management
  • Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of Vermeer’s Industrial Underground equipment and competitive products.
  • Clearly communicate features, benefits, and proper applications to customers.
  • Understand and demonstrate safe, proper equipment operation.
  • Retain key specifications and maintenance requirements for the full product line.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of sales experience required; industry experience preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED required; college degree is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and follow through.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Basic computer and typing proficiency.
  • Must have (or be willing to obtain within required timeframe) a Class A CDL
    .
  • Understanding of industry practices, safety protocols, and equipment operation.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) candidates strongly preferred.
