Core Responsibilities- Maintain, diagnose, and repair generators; install and replace components or entire systems; perform additional maintenance or upgrades on out‑of‑season equipment.
- Conduct performance checks and regular maintenance to ensure proper readiness; read and follow blueprints or other design specifications for installation or repair.
- Install fuel and water supply lines, pumps, electrical wiring and controls, and other components; test for proper operation.
- Be responsible for responding promptly to power/generator alarms; have the ability to be on call 24/7 if necessary and respond promptly to assigned phone and email.
- Perform work with awareness of all potential hazards associated with the installation and maintenance of power supply equipment, switching gear, and other equipment; use safety equipment and practices; attend and participate in all designated safety and training meetings.
Specific duties may vary or evolve over time based on business and client needs.
Core Experience- Two or more years of experience with generator maintenance preferred; a minimum of one year of intense work‑related experience with generator and electrical maintenance‑related software, hardware, and processes.
- Thorough knowledge of generator installations, maintenance, and repair of generators; knowledge of electronic, mechanical, and electrical components; moderate computer skills.
- Basic knowledge of pertinent FCC/FAA/EPA/OSHA regulations.
- This position requires lifting over 50 pounds, stooping, bending, kneeling, squatting, climbing, and standing for long periods.
- Must have the ability to inspect and/or troubleshoot equipment/alarms effectively, both visually and audibly.
- Must be willing and able to drive long distances, work day, evening, or night hours; overtime, emergency callouts, weekends, and holidays as required; must assume 24‑hour on call duty when assigned and be gone from home for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to pass a DOT physical.
