Fire Sprinkler Fitters and Helpers support the Commercial Foreman with daily tasks on the job site. They report to the Commercial Superintendent/Manager, work under the direction of the Commercial Foreman, and support fast paced work requiring frequent ladder climbs, overhead work, and lifting up to 70 lbs.
Day to Day Responsibilities- Install Fire Sprinkler systems accurately, on schedule, and within budget.
- Work with the Foreman to follow procedures, blueprints, and instructions to assemble and install pipes, tubes, and fittings including connecting fire pump valves using threaded, soldered, brazed, fused, or cemented joints.
- Assist with securing pipes to the structure using brackets, clamps, and hangers and run lines and sprinkler heads according to plans.
- Ensure systems are glued together properly and test for leaks.
- Attend monthly safety meetings at the local branch.
- Work outside job sites for long hours in all seasons, including summer months.
- Construction experience preferred but not required.
- Basic knowledge of hand tools.
- Travel within the local community with reliable transportation.
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Must wear proper protective equipment as required on all job sites.
- Successful completion of a pre‑employment drug test and background check with employment verification is required to be hired.
