Community Resource Network of Florida is seeking a compassionate, dependable driver to join our team. Our drivers transport adults with developmental disabilities to day programs, volunteer positions, and community outings. As a driver you will play a vital role in helping individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities by ensuring safe transportation to and from their designated locations.
Our drivers will be driving a Ford HD Transit van. Each van is equipped with a camera system and GPS tracking.
Hours will be based on route assigned. A typical day shift will be a split AM/PM timeframe for drop off and pick (specific start and end times may vary by day depending on route). 6:00 a.m.
- 10:00 a.m. and then 2:00 p.m.
- 6:00 p.m., Monday‑Friday. No weekends or holidays. A typical work week could range from 36‑40 hours per week. On occasion there may be an opportunity for additional hours to assist with outings or special events.
- Greet and interact with passengers.
- Maintain and protect the confidentiality of the individuals.
- Ensure vehicle is operated in compliance with applicable traffic regulations, ordinances, and laws in the jurisdiction in which it is operated.
- Inspect vehicle to identify needed maintenance.
- Sanitize and clean vehicles daily following routes, removing any trash and/or debris.
- Ensure individuals are accounted for and transportation logs are completed daily.
- Assist each passenger in boarding and departing the vehicle, ensuring they have entered their destination safely.
- Ensure that individuals are wearing their masks when boarding the vehicle.
Candidates must be comfortable working with individuals with developmental disabilities. Some of the people we serve may also have physical limitations that require assistance getting on and off the van.
Skills and Qualifications- High school diploma or GED.
- Must pass level‑2 background check and drug screening.
- 18 years of age or older.
- Clean driving record – no drug or alcohol related offenses.
- Must be able to lift, bend, stretch.
- Demonstrates patience and compassion.
