Overview
Medical Assistant / X-Ray Tech at Physicians Care - PRN, working in Fort Oglethorpe and Dalton, Georgia. PRN (per diem) position with as-needed scheduling; full-time team members work rotating 36-40 hour weeks.
Responsibilities- Promptly greet patients when entering waiting area, exam room, laboratory, or x-ray room.
- Communicate wait times to patients and guide them to the next step in the treatment process.
- Provide solutions to patient problems and recognize when to seek help in emergent or hazardous situations.
- Execute follow-up calls with a sense of urgency.
- Assist front desk personnel with patient check-in/check-out as needed.
- Obtain and document patient vital signs and weight; take brief history, current medications, allergies, and other pertinent information.
- Assist with patient transfers and procedures directly supervised by the provider.
- Prepare patients for radiologic procedures and follow safety and regulatory procedures, including radiation protection and shielding techniques.
- Follow documentation procedures and complete required documentation related to patient visits.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant is preferred
- Medical Assistant Certificate and ARRT certification preferred
