Overview

We are seeking a Speech Language Pathologist PRN to join our team at HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital
. The Speech Language Pathologist provides high-quality, patient-centered care by developing and conducting individualized therapy programs for patients with communication, cognitive, and/or swallowing impairments. As a member of the health care team, the Speech Language Pathologist performs comprehensive patient assessments and establishes appropriate treatment goals. The Speech Language Pathologist serves as an educator to patients, families, students and colleagues.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct subjective assessments of assigned patients’ speech-language abilities during spontaneous conversation and administer objective tests to assess communication assets and liabilities.
  • Structure and implement individualized patient programs to improve communication abilities.
  • Evaluate patients regularly during treatment and adjust programs to maximize progress.
  • Document progress in the patient’s chart, including notes, charges, discharge notes, and patient communications.
  • Consult with the Program Director and Rehab Physician/Medical Director regarding pre-screen assessments and physician consultations to determine appropriate placement of potential patients.
Qualifications
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
