Distribution Center Floor Supervisor - KEY Apparel

Key Apparel is a clothing company located in Fort Scott, Kansas, focused on creating high quality work, industrial and outdoor related apparel. KEY is searching for a Warehouse Floor Supervisor to supervise daily activities of warehouse employees and oversee product flow in the warehouse.

Successful Candidate Attributes

The successful candidate should be professional and articulate, have positive energy, the ability to analyze workflow and identify opportunities, and have excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail. The ability to identify problems and find solutions is a must as well as the ability to hold employees accountable for performance and counsel/discipline when necessary. The successful candidate must have open lines of communication with not only the Distribution Center Manager, but also all other areas of the company in order to create a cohesive work environment, and efficient flow of product in and out of the warehouse.

Key Responsibilities Include
  • Oversee daily floor activity and personnel assignments
  • Work closely with Distribution Center Manager and other office staff to ensure orders are released timely and monitor processes to ensure efficient processing for timely delivery to customers
  • Ensure warehouse departments are staffed accordingly based on order volume and need
  • Using a cross-training matrix, develop and cross-train staff in multiple departments within the warehouse
  • Review shipping material needs to ensure a constant flow of product
  • Identify inter-department needs and assess what tools or equipment might be required to improve efficiency
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment for all employees
  • Identify errors or issues prior to the end of shipping day and implement corrective actions
  • Review employee statistics and make adjustments as necessary in order to keep a steady work flow at all times
  • Coach, educate, counsel, and/or discipline staff as necessary
