Location:

These positions are located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO), in multiple locations specified in this announcement.

Responsibilities
  • Research detainee history using multiple sources to establish identity/citizenship and manage detained and non‑detained dockets.
  • Provide administrative support to managers, supervisors, or staff members by assisting in the day‑to‑day management of the office’s activities.
  • Summarize and tabulate detainee information from various reports and utilize a variety of databases and automated systems.
  • Generate and verify detainee reports, encounters, charging documents, studies, and data quality; create and revise spreadsheets, charts, graphs, and presentations.
  • Exercise quality control over bond paperwork.
Requirements
  • You must be a U.S. citizen.
  • You must successfully pass a background investigation, which may include a credit check and review of financial and criminal history.
  • Selective Services registration or exemption is required for males born after 12/31/59.
  • One‑year probationary period may be required.
  • A pre‑employment drug test will be required.
  • If you receive a conditional offer, you must complete Form 306, Declaration for Federal Employment, and certify accuracy of your application information.
  • All new hires must pass a pre‑employment drug test with a negative result.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications for GS‑05

  • At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to GS‑04, including performing recordkeeping and reporting, maintaining automated records, and responding to procedural information requests.

Education Substitution

Four or more years of post‑secondary education above high school in any field, with at least 30 semester hours beyond the second year. The education must be in an accredited institution.

Combination of Education and Experience

When education and experience are combined, the total of education beyond the first 60 semester hours and experience must meet the GS‑05 requirements. One full academic year (30 semester hours) beyond the second year equates to six months of specialized experience.

Minimum Qualifications for GS‑06

  • At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to GS‑05, including processing individuals arrested or detained by law enforcement, performing file searches, and managing documentation.

Typing Requirement

Typing speed of at least 40 words per minute on a 5‑minute sample with three or fewer errors.

Additional Information – Cutoffs

  • 1st Cut‑off: 11/01/2025
  • 2nd Cut‑off: 12/01/2025
  • Final Cut‑off: 12/31/2025

Salary
:
The salary range will be adjusted to include locality payment for the selected duty location. General Schedule locality pay tables may be found under Salaries & Wages.
