This position supports the National Nuclear Security Administration’s (NNSA) Office of Secure Transportation (OST / NA-15). NNSA is a semi-autonomous entity under the Department of Energy (DOE) that supports the Department of War’s nuclear weapon enterprise.

Clearance required:
Current DOE L or DoD Secret.
Security Clearance preferred:
Current DOE Q or DoD Top Secret.
General Instructors should be prepared to be assigned both a primary and a secondary training duties to support training requirements as needed. For example, a general instructor may be assigned primary duties as a firearms/marksmanship instructor and a secondary duty as a tactics instructor. General Instructors who have completed LECT and Law Enforcement Fitness Coordinator Training Program through FLETC will support OST training and activities.
Instructors will also be subject to strenuous training activities that require a high degree of physical fitness that allows the individual to work in a broad range of training environments and conditions. Must have a mastery of classroom and field instruction.
General Instructor must have five years minimum experience in their respective area and will have demonstrated knowledge of the concepts, principles, techniques, and practices of the disciplines in their respective areas. Will interface with federal supervisors and federal training staff. Must have a mastery of classroom and field instruction such as firearms (handgun, rifle, grenade launcher), small unit tactics, defensive tactics/law enforcement combatives, basic physical fitness training.

- Basic Instructor Training (BIT) – Certification through DOE or FLETC
- Certification in Automated External Defibrillators (AED)
- Firearms Instructor Certification (FIC) – Certification through DOE or FLETC
- Law Enforcement Control Tactics (LECT) (FLETC) for the General Instructors, Type I assigned
- Law Enforcement Fitness Coordinator Training Program (FLETC) for the General Instructors, Type I assigned
- Controller Training – OST-Specific Training
- Certification in First Aid
- Certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
