Position Summary

The Corporate Controller oversees all financial operations for a real estate and commercial property management organization with private equity–style investment activities. This role manages accounting, financial reporting, investor reporting, property level financials, and compliance with Arkansas state regulations. The Controller ensures accurate financial information across multiple entities, properties, and investment structures while supporting strategic growth and capital deployment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee accounting for commercial, residential, and mixed‑use properties, including rent rolls, CAM reconciliations, lease accounting, and tenant billing
  • Ensure accurate property‑level financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports
  • Manage capital expenditure (Cap Ex) tracking, project budgets, and draw requests
  • Oversee property tax filings, assessments, and appeals for Arkansas jurisdictions
  • Maintain compliance with Arkansas DFA requirements for sales/use tax, payroll tax, and state filings
Corporate & Multi‑Entity Accounting
  • Manage accounting for multiple LLCs, partnerships, and holding companies
  • Oversee consolidations, intercompany transactions, and eliminations
  • Maintain internal controls, accounting policies, and financial procedures across all entities
Private Equity‑Style Responsibilities
  • Prepare investor reporting, including quarterly updates, capital account statements, and distribution calculations
  • Support capital raises, including financial modeling, due diligence materials, and data room preparation
  • Track fund performance, IRR, equity waterfalls, and preferred return structures
  • Assist with acquisition underwriting, financial modeling, and pro forma analysis
  • Coordinate with legal teams on entity formation, operating agreements, and investment structures
  • Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for corporate and property entities
  • Lead annual budgeting and forecasting for both corporate operations and property portfolios
  • Coordinate external audits, lender reviews, and compliance reporting
  • Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and treasury functions
Leadership & Operations
  • Supervise accounting and AP/AR activities
  • Implement process improvements and system upgrades (e.g., App Folio, Step One (ERP), or similar)
  • Provide financial insights to ownership and executive leadership to support strategic decisions
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including real estate or property management
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, real estate accounting, and multi‑entity structures
  • Experience with property management software and ERP systems
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • CPA preferred (Arkansas licensure or ability to obtain)
  • Experience with commercial real estate, property management, or real estate investment firms
  • Familiarity with private equity structures, investor reporting, and fund accounting
  • Experience with multistate operations or multi‑property portfolios
  • Background in public accounting or audit
