Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm
Summary:
Assists in examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician. Conducts intake on patients, vital signs (i.e., pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height), and completes patient health history in the electronic medical record. Displays good decision making skills and has knowledge of anatomy and proficient in medical terminology. Must be able to multi task. May be required to draw and collect blood samples for patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis, might be exposed to bodily fluids during patient care.
Must be friendly, professional, and able to keep a fast pace during clinic hours.
- Assist in examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician.
- Conduct patient intake, record vital signs, and complete health history in the electronic medical record.
- Demonstrate good decision making, knowledge of anatomy, and proficiency in medical terminology.
- Multi-task to support clinic operations.
- May draw and collect blood samples and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis.
- Handle duties in environments where exposure to bodily fluids may occur.
- Maintain a friendly, professional demeanor and sustain a fast pace during clinic hours.
- Education:
High school diploma or equivalent. - Experience/Training/Knowledge:
Minimum one year of work experience, preferably in a health care clinic setting. - Ability to respond appropriately to instructions.
- Certification, Licensure, Bonding:
American Heart Association BLS, Current Medical Assistant Certificate.
May be exposed to a variety of healthcare settings, including clinical, office or maintenance environments.
Additional InformationThis job will be authorized 80.00 hours bi-weekly.
