My client manufactures and supplies lime and limestone products in the United States. They extract limestone from open-pit quarries and an underground mine, and process it as pulverized limestone, quicklime, hydrated lime, and lime slurry.

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Plant Maintenance Manager to oversee the maintenance operations of our facility.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing maintenance programs, ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of equipment, and managing a team of maintenance professionals.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical and electrical maintenance, along with a proven track record of effective leadership in an industrial setting.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive maintenance programs to ensure the efficient and reliable operation of lime and minerals processing equipment.
• Manage and lead a team of maintenance technicians, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure a high level of performance and productivity.
• Coordinate and schedule preventive maintenance activities to minimize downtime and maximize equipment lifespan.
• Oversee troubleshooting and repair activities to address equipment malfunctions and minimize production disruptions.
• Collaborate with other departments, such as production and engineering, to optimize plant processes and address maintenance-related challenges.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and implement safety procedures to create a secure working environment.
• Develop and manage the maintenance budget, controlling costs while maintaining high standards of equipment reliability.
• Evaluate and implement new technologies and methodologies to improve maintenance efficiency and effectiveness.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment history, and spare parts inventory.
• Provide regular reports to upper management on maintenance performance, equipment status, and upcoming maintenance activities.
• Manage capital projects and capital budgets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience in maintenance management, preferably in a heavy industrial environment.
• Strong technical knowledge of lime and minerals processing equipment, including crushers, kilns, conveyors, and related systems.
• Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team of maintenance professionals.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• Knowledge of MSHA safety regulations and a commitment to creating a safe work environment.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Familiarity with maintenance software and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic manufacturing environment.
• Flexibility to work off-hours or weekends as needed for maintenance emergencies or planned shutdowns.
