Clinical Supervisor - Med Surg; Nights

• Lead and oversee patient care delivery, ensuring care is coordinated according to patient needs and staff competencies.
• Manage staffing resources to support safe patient care, operational efficiency, and optimal patient flow.
• Serve as a trusted leader, mentor, and coach by providing guidance, feedback, and professional development opportunities for team members.
• Foster a positive and accountable workplace culture through staff engagement, recognition, and shared governance initiatives.
• Collaborate effectively with providers, leaders, and interdisciplinary teams to address patient care and operational needs.
• Ensure compliance with organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and accreditation standards.
• Support quality improvement initiatives, performance improvement projects, and root cause analyses to enhance patient outcomes.
• Address patient and family concerns with professionalism and compassion while promoting service recovery and patient satisfaction.
• Help drive operational excellence by balancing quality care, patient experience, and resource stewardship.

• Education Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Licensure Current Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
• Experience Minimum of 3-5 years of hospital nursing experience required.
• Previous leadership, charge nurse, or supervisory experience preferred.
• Certifications AHA Healthcare Provider certification required upon hire or within the probationary period.
• ACLS, TNCC, and ENPC or PALS certifications as applicable to the department.

Our Mercy health system was founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1986. But our heritage goes back more than 195 years. It began with an Irish woman named Catherine McAuley, who was determined to help women and children in Dublin experiencing poverty. Though Catherine had a modest upbringing, she received an unexpected inheritance that allowed her to fulfill that dream.

In 1827, she opened the first House of Mercy in Dublin, intending to teach skills to women and educate children. Many volunteers came to help. A few years later, Catherine founded the Sisters of Mercy, one of the first religious orders whose Sisters were free to walk among the poor and visit them in their homes. In 1843, the Sisters of Mercy came to the United States.

In 1856, they traveled to St. Louis. In the years to come, they would establish hospitals throughout the Midwest. Many of these would join together in 1986 as Mercy.
