Travel RN - Telemetry - Stepdown

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an ICU Stepdown position requiring 2+ years of specialty experience and proficiency managing post-CV surgery and stroke patients.

• Active RN license (AR or compact) required at time of consideration
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• 2+ years of recent ICU Stepdown experience required
• Experience with post-CV surgery and post-stroke patient care required
• Proficient in titrating cardiac drips including Nitro, Cardizem, Amiodarone, and Esmolol
• Experience with Bipap and Airvo use required
• Must be able to recognize signs of a deteriorating patient
• Valid U.S. Social Security Number required;
  Canadian SINs not accepted
• No employment gaps of 90+ days within the past 12 months

• Work in a 16-bed ICU Stepdown unit within an acute care hospital
• Patient population includes post-op, cardiovascular, neuro, full stroke, and respiratory cases requiring stepdown-level care
• Maintains a 4:1 patient ratio
• Utilizes Philips bedside monitors and Airvo equipment
• Documents in EPIC
• 12-hour night shifts on a 3x12 schedule
• Works every other weekend
• Floating required as needed
• No call requirements
• Provide stepdown-level nursing care to post-surgical, cardiac, neuro, and stroke patients
• Collaborate with a team-oriented, supportive nursing staff
• Black scrubs required; hoodies not permitted
• Up to 5 days of RTO allowed, to be made up during the assignment
• Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are considered local
• First-time travelers may be considered for this role
