Mechanical Designer/Technologist Markham, ON
EXP is searching for a Mechanical Designer to join our MEP team in our Markham, ON office. The successful applicant will be joining a diverse engineering group in Central Canada poised for growth and challenging opportunities well into the future.
Responsibilities- Under the supervision of senior mechanical engineers or project manager, produce design packages including schematic diagrams, floor plans, equipment room layouts and schedules.
- Develop plans and design layouts for mechanical systems that include HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and medical gases.
- Create drawings and layouts using AutoCAD or Revit software to show mechanical systems on plans, sections, and elevations. Assist with interference coordination between building systems.
- Carry out the mechanical calculations to size ductwork, HVAC piping, plumbing, and drainage as required for the systems.
- Conduct site survey for existing conditions when required.
- Obtain information on equipment from suppliers and select equipment with input from senior designers.
- Attend site meetings during construction with a senior staff member.
- Contribute to all aspects of system level design and assist with other general tasks when needed.
- Mechanical Engineering Degree/College Diploma.
- At least 2 years of related mechanical building services experience.
- AutoCAD experience required and REVIT MEP proficiency.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to read mechanical, architectural, structural drawings.
- Ability to understand piping/plumbing diagrams.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) products and Bluebeam.
The salary range for this role is between $70K - $80K. The actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location.
