Job Information
The Airfield Maintenance Specialist (AMS) contributes to the safe and reliable operation of the Fort Smith Airport by maintaining all airport surfaces in operation condition. This includes clearing and maintaining runways, taxiways, aprons and roadways, drainage systems and security fencing.

Typically, the above qualifications would be attained by:
Three (3) years directly related experience as an equipment operator in a maintenance program (i.e. municipal, highway, airport, etc.) which would include experience operating loader, grader, skid steer, and plow truck.
The successful candidate will be required to begin the mandatory Airfield Maintenance Training Syllabus, which takes 2 years to complete. Incumbent requires training in the use of the airless paint machine in order to perform line painting on runways, taxiways and aprons
