Fort Valley State University, a land‑grant institution of the University System of Georgia, invites applications for a full‑time, tenure‑track position of Assistant or Associate Professor of Mathematics in the Department of Natural and Computational Sciences, College of Arts and Sciences.

• Teach undergraduate level Mathematics and related courses in a face‑to‑face, online, or hybrid format.
• Teach courses as assigned by the department chair per term and maintain office hours (a minimum of 10 hours per week).
• Advise students and actively participate in recruitment of students.
• Exhibit the potential to carry out research of good quality and strengthen the program.
• Participate in the solicitation of external funding.
• Participate in the continuous assessment of student learning outcomes.
• Review and plan curricula.
• Serve on departmental, college, and university level committees.
• Participate in community service and outreach programs on behalf of the institution.
• Provide services to the university and professional organizations.
• Assist students in acquiring internship and job placement.
• Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.

• Ph.D. in Mathematics.
• Coursework or inclination in research and teaching differential equations, numerical analysis, abstract algebra, probability, statistics, and data science.
• Preference will be given to candidates who have graduate‑level coursework in statistics, data science, or related areas.
• 2–3 years of experience teaching at the university level.

• Excellent communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Excellent analytical, oral, written communication skills and teamwork.
• Demonstrated success in research and scholarly activities.
• Demonstrated ability to work with traditional and non‑traditional students.
