Job Summary
HCA Florida Fort Walton-Destin Hospital is seeking a Trauma Medical Director for their Level II trauma center in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. The Trauma Program at HCA Fort Walton Beach
- Destin is actively developing an EGS program comprising Trauma, Surgical Critical Care, and Emergency and Elective General Surgery to better meet the needs of our growing community.
Surgery Trauma
Qualified Candidates- Board certified in General Surgery
- Board certified or board eligible in Surgical Critical Care
- ATLS required
- Eager to be part of developing an elective general surgery practice for the trauma center
- At least 1‑2 years of prior leadership/directorship experience required
- Employed by HCA Physician Services Group, the largest hospital network in the nation

- APP support 24/7
- 12‑hour primary in‑house coverage with night back‑up call from home with 30‑minute response time

HCA Florida Fort Walton‑Destin Hospital is a 331‑bed, top‑performing acute care hospital and Level II trauma facility offering the area’s only Comprehensive Cardiovascular Program, Accredited Chest Pain Center, Joint Commission accredited Advanced Primary Stroke Center, Certified cancer center, Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit and Adult Inpatient Behavioral Health Center. The hospital hosts 3rd‑ and 4th‑year D.O. students, has an established IM residency program with TY and EM starting in 2026, and is part of a network of more than 180 hospitals and 1,800 sites of care nationwide.
